Class Tier List

SPECULATIVE PRE-RELEASE TIER LIST

This ranking is not official and is not based on playable build data. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches September 17, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. We only rank identities Nintendo has clearly shown—movement gimmicks, line attacks, armor-mobility hybrids, Hero Blaze synergies—and we will rewrite the list after real growths, enemy density, and Burst math are public.

August 4, 2026 Direct caveats

The August Direct confirmed the three-band structure (Beginner five / Specialty over ten / Advanced masters) and named showcase jobs, but it did not publish growths, mastery skills, or full Specialty catalogs. Treat every S–C placement below as kit speculation with these hard limits:

  • Showcase language is not a balance patch.
  • “Over ten” Specialty classes means most mid-tier names are still TBD—do not invent fillers to pad tiers.
  • Advanced masters (Cataphract, Guardian, Elephant Rider, Dragoon) may shift entire bands once exam costs and anti-mount tools are known.
  • Parallel Hero routes and calendar pressure can make a “lower” class correct for your week even if it sits in B here.

If you want factual class descriptions without ranks, use the Classes Hub, Beginner, Specialty, Advanced, and Mounts pages instead.

Ranking criteria (revealed kits only)

We score classes on:

  1. Shown unique tools (Charioteer line strikes, Ornius move, wing leaps, Cataphract hybrid bulk, Guardian heal+spear, elephant footprint).
  2. Synergy with confirmed Hero Blaze Arts (Cai AoE fire, Dietrich warp, Theodora long pressure, Leda buff/summon).
  3. Fit inside the Heroic Games + calendar loop (exams in Dagsion, travel costs on the Dagda map).
  4. Risk under Burst — full Blaze Gauge halves max HP; thin classes drop harder.

We do not invent unrevealed skills, pair-up rules, or numeric growths.

Tier key

  • S — Highest speculative impact from shown kits alone
  • A — Excellent tools, slightly more situational
  • B — Solid foundations or incomplete reveals
  • C — Valuable but dependent on unknown numbers
  • TBD — Named but too incomplete to rank

Specialty tier note

Specialty is a full certification band, not a footnote under Advanced. Over ten Specialty jobs will define most mid-tournament rosters. This list therefore ranks Specialty identities in the same S–C scale as Beginner and Advanced, and it keeps an explicit Specialty priority callout: if you can only certify one mid-tier tool before a hard bracket, prefer the Specialty kit that answers your map (wall, leap, or line clear) over rushing an Advanced silhouette you cannot fund.

Unnamed Specialty fillers stay in C/TBD until trailers reveal tools—padding “over ten” with fake names would violate the August Direct evidence bar.

S tier (speculative)

Charioteer (Specialty)

Official multi-target straight-line attacks punish clustered brackets common in tournament AI. Combos with Cai’s wide flames and Gambit setups. Risk: friendly fire geometry and unknown durability. Remains the clearest Specialty S pick after August.

Ornius Rider (Beginner flier)

Confirmed Beginner high-move flier beside gladiators and diviners. Speculatively breaks early positioning puzzles and accelerates world-map errands when days matter on the calendar. Risk: traditional flier frailty + Burst.

Cataphract (Advanced)

Horse mobility plus heavy armor is an official Advanced pitch—rare dual answer to open maps and melee pressure. Natural late goal after horse Specialty lines—not a reason to skip Specialty entirely.

A tier (speculative)

Guardian (Advanced)

White magic + spears covers heal and anti-cavalry poke. Speculative glue for Theodora/Leda turns that need a safe adjacent partner.

Wing soldier (Specialty)

Obstacle-leaping distance tools mirror Ornius fantasy at mid tier. Strong whenever stadium geometry is the real boss. Specialty-band priority is high on cluttered maps even if overall rank sits at A.

Elephant Rider (Advanced)

Unique giant-mount identity with huge spectacle and likely shock value. Ranked A not S because anti-mount checks and clash-size rules are unknown—novelty ≠ proven efficiency.

Dietrich-linked mobile lines (Ornius → wing / Forest Knight / Bardinger / Dragoon path)

Not a single class, but a route: warp Blaze Art plus high move is the cleanest revealed synergy package. Dragoon sits here as August press mastery fantasy without a full public skill card. See Characters for Hero details.

Armored knight (Specialty)

Ironclad Specialty defense. Climbs toward S on defense-heavy brackets; sits A overall because world-map pace and unknown move costs punish all-armor corps.

B tier (speculative)

Gladiator weapon ladders (Myrmidon → Shido path)

Reliable sword (and broader gladiator) ladders. Always valuable, rarely the headline gimmick in Directs—hence B until arts lists are full.

Hunter → Sniper / Forest Knight

Bow chip and cavalry checks remain evergreen. Forest Knight climbs if mounted bow canto is generous; unknown for now.

Diviner / Shaman → Ovate / Bishop split

Magic vs armor is officially highlighted. Ovate-style offense vs Bishop support both matter; split keeps the line flexible but unspectacular pre-numbers.

Armored knight → Dreadnought (Advanced cap)

Specialty wall into fortress Advanced. Excellent on defense missions; slower on day-tight world travel.

C tier (speculative)

Noble / Commoner

Essential canvases, poor long-term stays. Rank measures staying in the class, not using it as a temporary exam bridge.

Unnamed Specialty fillers

Any Specialty identities inside the “over ten” count without shown tools sit here until trailers reveal kits.

TBD — named but unranked

Shido, Sniper, Forest Knight, Dreadnought, Bardinger, Ovate, Bishop appear in certification UI coverage with Renown/level gates, yet lack public combat footage depth. Dragoon is highlighted in August press among higher-tier special units but lacks a published skill card—inherit mobility-family speculation, not a unique S placement.

Systems that can shatter this list overnight

  • Final Burst timing and recovery
  • Whether Crests / Hero’s Relics gate entire Advanced jobs
  • Dungeon clash rules favoring infantry combos over mounts
  • Spear effectiveness tuning vs Cataphract/Elephant
  • Full Specialty catalog reveals that obsolete today’s Charioteer/wing/armor trio
  • Blessing uptime from Temple Row

Track those on Combat and correctives on August Direct, Direct Summaries, plus Release Date.

How to use this list responsibly

  1. Pick a Hero path and read Guides pacing advice.
  2. Certify Beginner jobs from Beginner Classes.
  3. Choose Specialty tools from Specialty Classes before Advanced vanity.
  4. Confirm mastery facts on Advanced Classes.
  5. Respect mount weaknesses via Mounts.
  6. Rebuild personal rankings with Tools checklists after launch.

Versioning

  • v0.1 (pre-release) — kit-only speculative tiers from announcement materials.
  • v0.2 (August Direct) — Specialty band note, Beginner gladiator/diviner/Ornius framing, Advanced Dragoon caveat, stronger August evidence warnings.
  • v1.0 (planned) — post-launch reorder with growths and matchup charts.

Reminder: Any creator or site presenting these ranks as fact is wrong. Ours are labeled speculative on purpose.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers grounded in what Nintendo has revealed so far.

Is this Fortune's Weave class tier list official?

No. It is an explicitly speculative pre-release ranking based only on kits shown in Nintendo materials, including the August 4, 2026 Direct.

Why call out a Specialty tier note?

Specialty is a full mid band with over ten classes. Most competitive Games rosters will live there; Advanced masters are not automatic upgrades for every bracket.

Why is Charioteer in S tier?

Because official copy confirms multi-enemy straight-line attacks, a rare formation tool. Numbers could still nerf it after launch.

Why are Noble and Commoner in C tier?

The rank judges staying in those classes long-term. They remain useful temporary canvases before Specialty exams.

Will this list change after September 17, 2026?

Yes. Expect a full rewrite once growths, enemy data, and Burst balance are verifiable.

Where are factual class details without tiers?

Use Beginner Classes, Specialty Classes, Advanced Classes, Mounts, and the Classes Hub for non-ranked documentation.
